 When the “Red Alert” rocket warning system sounded once again, we all jumped up immediately and ran toward the shelter and protected areas.    One morning Steve Fleischer from Great Neck, New York, read an article in his morning paper about the city of Sderot. In the article, a local mother and son bemoaned the fact that Sderot children could never play outside since there were no parks that offered any kind of protection against Kassam rocket fire. Because of their fears, children were simply staying home and never going outside to play. Steve and his family were very touched by the story and decided to do something about it. Read More
Due to the serious security situation in our city and out of our desire to protect ourselves against the Kassams, it has been necessary to construct two bomb shelters for our two campuses in Sderot. The first shelter is situated in the center of the dormitory area of the Yeshiva. Students-soldiers live in the Yeshiva’s dormitory, which consists of caravans which are completely unprotected. Thus, as soon as the siren goes off, the students rush to the shelter where they are safe from the rockets. Read More
