Below is a sampling of the many ways in which our students and our faculty have contributed to the residents of Sderot and beyond.

Our wonderful project of Chavrutot between Yeshiva students and students from the upper grades of the Sderot religious high school continues.The students come to learn with their “big brothers” after regular school hours, in their free time. Every evening in the Yeshiva there are more than 40 such Chavrutot seriously learning together. Read More |

The Yeshiva kollel for local retirees is now in its 7th year. About 20 retirees arrive each morning at the Yeshiva to study with our students. Strong, unique bonds have been formed between these 70-something men and our 20-year-old students. The students - who could be their grandchildren - are the teachers, and also spend time with them beyond the program's scheduled hours. Read More |

The Yeshivat Hesder Sderot services the southern communities with its Rabbinical Court for monetary issues. The need for a Rabbinical Court stemmed from a growing demand by local residents, who found it inconvenient to travel out of the area. Being the only such Beit Din in the region of Sderot, we are able to provide a much needed service to the community. Read More |

In 5767, the Yeshiva launched a new project in the city of Kiryat Gat: A special kiruv Yeshiva, targeting graduates of religious high schools in the south of the country. The motivation behind opening the Branch is that there are hundreds of religious high school graduates in the region lacking an appropriate religious setting for the period following high school graduation until the beginning of their service in the Israel Defense Forces. During the second week of the Second Lebanon War, paratroopers of the 890 battalion, after a weary trek, found themselves on the outskirts of the village of Bint Jebail. Their mission: to go from house to house, clearing them of terrorists and weapons. Zvi, a student in the Sderot Hesder Yeshiva, was there together with his comrades, planning to break into a house which they suspected of sheltering terrorists. Read More |
